question is how do scrutinize them to know they will help me out or is a healthy mindfull place to work?

and I asked about pay but no reply in emails

@localhost I'd expect pay negotiations/talk to be something that you'd have in person

I think he will email me after today interview as for negotation i never talked about it coz inever could and that was a worse point

coz i heard never accept first offered salary coz it is easy win for them

always ask what if and ur reason like flexi hours, shares or something

I know they would go deep in my cv especially why short roles, why leave and how will u stay here longer

@localhost the problem with broad generalizations like "never accept first offer" is that, well, they're bollocks

I always did that, 10 yrs of bs myself

do your homework before you go in and know what figure you'd accept, and what figure you want - if the "first offer" is either the same or above the "want" figure then you don't have to play hardball for the sake of it

if it's below the "want" but above the "accept" you can try and negotiate for your "want" with the "accept" as a fall back, if it's below the "accept" push for something slightly above the "accept" and be prepared for them to negotiate you down to the accept

those are all the guidelines you really need - the things people try and claim as hard rules about this: "Never accept the first offer!", "The first person to say a number loses!!" that sort of thing is just so much rubbish

I been in situation in past where I been told, "see u have potential but need more mentoring so this is ideal/max pay we would pay and IMO it is amazing deal"

this happened twice (one was last time)

whether they think it's an "amazing deal" isn't important, what matters is what they're paying you and how that relates to your "accept" and "want" amounts

now issue is I might want where I can be comfortable with but I did google and 45k is max they r giving, before covid i lost job redudant and it was 48k but after that a recruiter got me 40k job but it was same amount of work as 48k, then I went to 48k again when I decided to go bootcamp, then came to 45k n now 0 lol

Probably because they built their experience and for want of a better word pedigree - getting some decent work history/performance on the CV and expanding skills to include some solid backend experience and that would make a push into the mid 50s reasonable, but you aren't going to get there overnight

but amount of work as I have seen I worked same in 40,45 as I did for 48

@localhost yeah.. that's what I'd expect - the differentiator isn't really about how much work you have to do, but the skill/knowledge required to do it

10% more is another 4.5k so 49.5k total - but it doesn't matter, because that advice is bollocks

they've just plucked "10%" out of nowhere because it's a nice round number that's easy to remember

it was long, they showed me their codebase n asked me what I don't know

wow the codebase was massive

and I felt so tiny

one think they said in end "we don't want someone who will take up other developer time for 8 hours for 2 months to understand"= not sure what it meant but i fitted the bill

they asked me qurestion on aapp I build

so it was good

@localhost I think that largely translates as - "we want someone who knows how to figure stuff out themselves", in my experience it rarely translates as "you aren't allowed to ask questions" but instead as "ask someone for help only if you've already tried to solve it yourself first", or in other words, no help vampires

I feel burnout by interviewing and jumping on technology to please employers

feels like crying, it is gonna be 2 months after 2 days since I lost my job and so many jobs I applied n rejected
