@Old_Lamplighter having a pet doesn't really prepare you for being a parent (nor does being able to look after a pet mean you can look after a child) - but the reverse is true, if you can't cope with a pet you certainly can't cope with children!
@motosubatsu A truly sad case I heard about from a divorce lawyer: The couple had no problem setting up a custody agreement for their children, but they argued for over six hours about the dog.... SMH
