Does emailing interviewers after a week to inquire about the status of the hiring ever really work? I mean is there a point to it other than just emailing to confirm myself that I didn't get the job? I guess the person who wins the competition really never has to email interviewers asking for the status ...
@AIQ you don't have to mind, just make sure you are what they need and you won't have to message them after an interview, also they should let you know when they will get back to you, also from the interview you should have to know your stake.
@AIQ what calling to inquire does is demonstrate your interest in the position. It can certainly raise your chances and even if they THINK about giving it to someone else, you might win out over demonstrating your desire for the job

My interview was scheduled for 45 mins - but it went on for 58 mins ... so after they asked me all their questions, they said that maybe it would be better if I emailed them any questions I have for them because they had another interview in 2 mins ...
So I said thanks for the time and all ... and then later sent both interviewers a thank you email and specific questions for each of them
One interviewer responded by email to the 3 questions I asked her ... and she provided very detailed answers ...
but the other interviewer (who I have had communication with before - while emailing written tests and other things) did not email back with answers to my quesitons
I have sent the email inquiring about the status of the hiring process ... I have a strong feeling they would send me a "We have decided to move forward with a different candidate" email. Well ... there's only so much I can do...
@AIQ Yeah, I had a stroke a few months back, I wrestled with the Grim Reaper for a better part of a week until he gave up, realizing I was far too mean to die. I'm back to work now, pretty much recovered
