@JohnConnor It is always very good to learn a few different languages, even ones that look a bit pointless. Yes, C++ would be nice, but don't assume that Java doesn't have some concepts that you may find useful later on. And I also have to be honest, entry level C++ are certainly not as common as entry-level Java, so it's certainly worthwhile picking up Java, if only to make you more employable.
