Jeeesh. Company has over 7k people in this location but their IT department has 1 support desk in case you have problems. And they can't actually do anything because laptops are subcontracted off-site so if I want my faulty keyboard swapped they send the laptop out and it could take 3-7 days to get it back. Damn.
Guess I'll keep on keeping on. :)

@Lilienthal ugh.. talk about under-resourcing it

I wanted to just beg them to give me the damn replacement keyboard and I'll swap it myself but I have some dignity left. :)
It's either hilarious or sad that the quickest and cheapest fix is probably for me to just order a replacement myself and expense it.
But that goes for pretty much every IT request I've ever made. ;)

@Lilienthal BTDT
heck at points I've ordered parts fitted them myself and not even bothered expensing it - but that was a place that had the biggest PITA expenses process ever

Q: How should questions with obviously ridiculous premises (such as how to engage in fraud) be handled?

EJoshuaS - Reinstate MonicaFollow-up to: Should we answer questions that are likely to be closed? I recently encountered a question that basically asks how to defraud companies. The OP was "asking" if they could apply for a bunch of remote jobs, not really do the work, and collect 2 - 3 months of salary before they're fire...

@motosubatsu Hah, know that feeling as well.
It's always a little hilarious to me how friends and family will tell me to make sure I expense that 15 quid part or save X or Y receipt. With small one-off amounts like that it's just totally not worth spending capital on getting it reimbursed.
Then you're the guy moaning about a keyboard or whatnot. I'd rather be known for my work and then discuss a 2000 pound raise instead. ;)

Q: Can someone [support] me in burninating this tag?

EJoshuaS - Reinstate MonicaThe support tag currently has 10 questions. There is no tag description, and very little consistency in how it's used. By way of example, one question is about tech support, another one is how to handle an unsupportive boss, and one is about whether it's appropriate for a design engineer to be as...
