@Old_Lamplighter he'll have damaged the firmware probably, not the graphics card, not a lot he can do though except remove it and search for a way to flash or reset the firmware again.
if it has dual BIOS he can just flick a switch, otherwise here's what he needs to be looking at techpowerup.com/forums/threads/…

Firmware updates have always been dodgy. Best to ask a tech support forum to check what is and isn't fixable these days.

@Lilienthal yep which is why the newer ones often have dual BIOS chips so it's easy to fix
You just swirch to the other one while you work out what happened.
