After much back and forth, I think that "HR IS NOT YOUR FRIEND", doesn't really convey the message that is intended. It's usually in response to someone who is unaware of what HR is, what it isn't, and when going to HR is warranted, and when it would be a bad idea. HR questions come up frequently...
