@Helena I agree with your post, but I see how it got people angry. If you don't refer to the employers as the ultimate evil, and suggest any personal responsibility, it will be ill received by somne

@Helena The best I can say is that you'd get a better response if you acknowledged the OP's distress. I can see it as coming across as sympathizing more with the employer than the OP

yes, I went to far being the devils advocate here
I have been on both sides of the fence with very similar situations, and I see way too much evidence to the contrary in this case to just put all the blame on the manager
And even if the manager was to blame, changing job and hoping to land in a company without bad managers only has a certain chance
