@RhysW I am a consultant and working for IT consulting Organization. We have employed into the client location and work at the client location on client's assignments. We don't have any reporting manager like(Boss) except HR manager who do HR operations and marketing team with marketing manager who do marketing our profiles to get assignments for us. Client feedback and satisfaction is very much important to get extend contract and that decides our increments etc..
As I said my intention is not to hear this feedback from other channels especially from my employer at the time of decision making or after they took the decision. The satisfied client is our target

@CMW I believe that question is covered by this meta post instead:

Q: How do I deal with the fact that I'm awesome and everyone around me sucks?

JohnMcGThis seems to be the default structure of workplace questions. From the current front page: Dealing with co-workers intentionally working slower to milk their work hours? How to not let co-worker's incompetence affect my productivity? Should I confront a colleague who uses another co-worker ...

Perhaps your question provides a hint: "we may not needed to strictly follow what he thinks since I prefer simpler, practical ideas". He provides an idea based on what he's read, you give him a totally different idea based on your preference. Sounds like you just want him to implement your ideas because they are your ideas, not because his ideas are necessarily bad, or because your ideas are demonstrably better. As-is, I would have trouble answering this question, because it isn't clear what the actual problem is (other than your colleague not doing what you prefer). — jmac 20 secs ago

@CMW - good point, I suppose my claim is based on experience (in general, not toilet related!). If you do not make everyone accountable for something, then it is almost impossible to make everyone feel responsible for it. It's just human nature. @gnat My latest question hit the "hot questions". 5 non answers in a day, and a dozen of bs comments that completely miss the point of the question. @CMW funny but it may be actually safer to keep it there for a day or two. It looks like a "weight" of -10 answer score finally managed to pull the question out of the hot list. Rare case when community feedback overruled brainless hotness formula: 21/5=4.2 added to score by senselessly stuffing it at one part, but cool fat -10 dragged it down at another part, so total is -5.8, just what doctor ordered :)
15
A: How do the "arbitrary hotness points" work on the new Stack Exchange home page?

David FullertonBasically what's documented here: What formula should be used to determine "hot" questions? We have a few tweaks: Succeeding questions from the same site are penalized by increasing amounts. So, the first question from SO in the list gets multiplied by 1.0, the second by 0.98, the third ...

CMW
@gnat well that's a good thing for once

@CMW bad thing is of course this is rare case. It's too much to expect of community that every of megazillions lemming answers in every +20 hot question would be voted down to -5 or lower. And if you count in "sympathy upvotes" from passers by ("oh I'll +1 for just tryin'"), things get totally unmanageable. We're just lucky btw that tidy-your-hands didn't got such upvotes so far (keeping fingers crossed)

CMW
@gnat Is there still nobody willing to turn this into a sensible implementation?

...a "nice" example of the harm done by sympathy upvotes can be seen at Programmers, totally and demonstrably irrelevant answer got 7 votes down from regulars against 6 votes up from passers by. Answerer isn't even motivated to delete it, rather opposite: +6*10 -7*2=46, why would anyone in their sane mind want to delete such a rep cow...

This zero effort, purely opinionated answer lacks explanation and context. Statements made are not explained nor backed up with anything. Overly generalized wording like "There is only one reason. Linus Torvalds" does not even attempts to relate to the actual, specific question asked. As far as I can tell this blatantly violates requirements in the question notice: "provide some explanation and context.... explain why you're recommending it as a solution."gnat Dec 1 '12 at 8:17

As of now, I am focusing more on educating MSO audience about involved issues than on pushing for specific change; from this perspective status-declined is not very significant. the more people learn about it, the better chance for someone to come with a killer idea that would push it through
Feb 28 at 6:36, by gnat
@gnat I won't hash this out in the comments with you (I recommend bringing up a meta question to talk about this specific logical flaw you mention), but my answer does not change: We're not worried about needing to auto-protect hot questions because we haven't seen a reason to have to need to do that yet. Random google questions that the spammers go after are much more of a problem than the hot questions -- and there's no way to simply protect a question in advance because we won't know the spammers have hit it until there are already a few spam answers on it. — George Stocker 14 hours ago
