Now you're the guy nobody wants to deal with cause people are unsure if you're looking for a job or you want a reference letter.

so they know from the get go that I wanted a ref letter ... it was made very clear ... and I didn't ask for a job or anything ...

They are like those people who will not do anything for you until you do something for them in return. So pretty much they won't reply to my emails and texts now that I declined to do an internship in her team without pay ...
