@Kilisi the NA tribes have very very different cultures from tribe to tribe. Some had tatoos, some marked their slaves with tattoos, so, very different meanings. Some never did it at all.

@Old_Lamplighter same with Polynesians, although I can't think of any who didn't tattoo. It was banned everywhere when the missionaries came though. Usually the language was banned as well. But some places it carried on outside the main town areas.
