@Kilisi I live in Maine (in the US). We are very reliant on tourism, but the state had to keep the number of tourists down this summer to keep everyone safe. It seemed to work well. Some businesses clearly suffered and a few closed. Businesses will open back up. Most workers in the US will go back to work rather than working from home. Next year at some point in time, I suspect, things in the US will be pretty much back to normal. Just IMHO.
Maybe it's just wishful thinking. But I'm old and I've seen a lot of things in my life that I thought would change everything. In the end not that much changed.

@JoeStrazzere I'm old, I've seen a lot of change, but I've mostly lived places where it's hand to mouth with no govt support or social welfare. People don't have any savings and they live and die in debt. So it falls apart fairly quickly. 6 months after the lockdown everyone here got $50 (~20 USD) from govt. I'm one of the very few that isn't dependent locally for most of my revenue stream (I don't actually know anyone else).

@Kilisi We have similar problems in the midwest. The coasts have never known that level of poverty since we became a nation. But, even in the poorest places in America, one will not starve to death unless it is deliberately done to them.
