Huh. I was wondering how SE would handle an @ for non-ASCI usernames. Turns out it offers a username prediction for those, but not for any other users in the comment chain. Seems like a strange choice to not just offer it for all of them...
@Lilienthal Yeah. Type an @ and you get the non-ascii right away. Pretty helpful since I'd struggle to work out how to find some of those characters if I wanted to mention them.
IMHO, it's quite clear and goes right to the point, and if everyone has the same format, it's easier to compare them, so overall I think it's a good thing
It also makes all of the nomination posts similar to each other. And if voters don't seriously look at the meta answers, then they might miss something important.
I like to link git to my IDE to compare files, or to check quickly when was the last edit, but I still use git commands instead of GUI for lot of things
Android tends to shred my nerves. I never know if any device I buy will be supported by the next major version (or when), and all the apps seem to work in completely different ways. At least with Apple, I know what's going on.
And I don't end up buying a great handset only to find it's been overtaken in terms of CPU/RAM/Camera a month later.
@Snow I've been battling the stupidity of iDevices a lot recently.. was doing fresh setups for friend (recently divorced and all the devices were set up on their now ex-spouse's apple id) and it was just hours of pain and frustration
