@BESW And Twelve, surely?

12:38 AM
Curse of Fatal Death was really something. Shades of Missy, River Song, Eleven's aging in Day of the Doctor and maybe even Heaven Sent. The bit with the sofa reminded me of Deep Breath.

it's also freaking hilarious

Seeing Slughorn pop up really made me do a double-take.

@randal'thor We also see that Moffat knows how to not explain things.
"I'll explain later" would improve at least half his episodes.

Q: Hasn't The Doctor broken his promise before?

tilley31A couple of years ago, in the 50th anniversary special "The Day of The Doctor" we learned that The Doctor chose his name "Doctor" because of a promise: Clara: You told me the name you chose was a promise. What was that Promise? Tenth Doctor: Never cruel or cowardly. War Doctor: Neve...

7:32 PM
watching The Three Doctors now, I must admit I was highly entertained by Troughton in the scene where he first appears in the TARDIS

7:49 PM
Three Doctors is great, even if the villain's minions look like hard candy left in someone's pocket too long.

I like how they managed to make Hartnell legitimately useful despite extremely little screen time

Yes!
He was too ill to do much filming, so his footage is reading lines off cards in his garden and a nearby studio.

stop arguing about the time laws! get back to fighting the energy drain that supposedly requires all hands on deck!
which I say immediately before one of the other time lords makes that exact point
"Theoretically, they're dead." lol
"What do we do now?" "Keep it confused. Feed it with useless information. I wonder if I have a television set handy."
LOL

8:04 PM
The sass is strong with those two.

which pleases me

As I.

derp, when I glimpsed that guy hiding behind the rocks with the colorful scarf my first thought was "...Tom Baker?"

Nope, just a Clara-fragment. Obviously.

lol
now that they're in the hard candy lair it's starting to look more like really big fish eggs lining the walls

8:19 PM
Omega's design, though, is great.

8:34 PM
oops, in this shot we can clearly see the ordinary-sized interior of the TARDIS prop

8:47 PM
oh wow, he actually said "dark side"
I was getting tempted to make a Star Wars joke since Omega was reminding me a bit of a Sith lord
hah, even Omega can't believe they're the same person
whoa, I did not see that coming (the bit where they look under the mask)

9:26 PM
I feel like I'm supposed to say something after finishing that but "that was good" seems kind of needlessly obvious

Another thing I noticed in Curse of Fatal Death was "never cruel and never cowardly". Is that another foreshadowing of modern Moffat, or was it always established as the definition of Doctoriness even in classic Who? @BESW

I'm pretty sure that's another Moffatism.

I'm not sure either half of that is consistently true even under Moffat

So yet another CoFD foreshadowing!
I wonder if the Terserons are ever going to show up in the main series...

Nah, Davies beat him to it with the Raxacoricofallapatorians.

Oh yeah, forgot about them.
They didn't communicate by farting though.

11:27 PM
thank god

"Look after the universe for me. I've put a lot of work into it."
That's identical to a line in New Who IIRC, but I'm struggling to remember where it appeared...
Yes! Gotcha. It was in the prologue to series 9, when Twelve is on Karn:
