Update: I won't be working on that short story soon (It's too much info-dump.) Instead I'm creating a precursor story in two parts: The first part being a "story" that is a gentler kind of info dump+history, and the second part being an actual story based off of that. I'm on the first draft, second revision of part 1 of that piece, and the first draft of part 2 of that piece. Hoping I can finish the first draft for both parts of the story by the end of next week.
