By the way, this looks way more straightforward to me (and shorter) Try it online!
 
Oh, that's much better.
In mine I use f for two things: a) to get a zero and b) to decrement the input to zero while toggling the other value between zero and one.
So g creates a pair of the input and 0, and then we just repeatedly dip it, which continues until the input reaches zero.

But I was thinking, would it hurt Dodos if numbers could be used directly for returning constant values?
Trying to write a multiline snippet from my phone, it doesn't work -.-
What I mean is, this could be a function taking n as input and returning (n,0) Try it online!
 
But then hello world would be boring ;)
