@MartinBüttner Have you thought about multi char outputs in T mode? Something like T`12`(one)(two) or even having the ability to use proper replace patterns T`123`($1)($2)($3)`.(?=(.)(.)(.)). With this feature removalal is () e.g. T`abp`ba().

@randomra I think that goes beyond what transliteration is supposed to do. At that point it would probably be better to use replace stages or a multi-stage approach.
