@StephenKitt well I'll be... I had no idea this was possible. I am used to having just one login manager instance on F1 and that's where you log into. I tried and, of course, you are absolutely right and even without wayland, on my modern system I have GDM running on F1 while I am logged in on F2. I had noticed my Arch was on F2 when I first switched to Arch a few years ago but hadn't realized that meant that I still had a GDM on F1, the idiot!

@terdon yeah most users don’t realise this, if you never need to change users there’s no reason you’d notice!

@MarcusMüller I deleted the other thing as it was offensive-ish and because it really did not add much information in any case.

@MarcusMüller I might have misunderstood what this referred to, but terdon seems to have found the issue (or another similar thing). It will be fixed.
