Is the command 'spec' from bash shell or not?

@EnthusiastiC The spec command is not a command I recognize at all. It is definitely not a built-in command in the bash shell.

@EnthusiastiC Looking at an Ubuntu system that I have, there is a spec command in a package called "sptk", which apparently is a "speech signal processing toolkit".

okay. It's relevant only for an already installed program in a remote computer which I often connect to.

maybe it's an alias or a specific command the installed program came up with.

That will tell you if it is an alias or a function or an executable somewhere.

@EnthusiastiC It's not clear whether you wish to know what the spec command does, out of curiosity, or because it appears to be missing when you do something on that system.

Of course, being the pedant that I am I have changed crysis to crisis in the original. But my heart really goes out to the poor OP. There's a good chance they will be OK if they actually managed to upload the files and only the special ._ ones failed.
