@Stereomac I can introduce myself and the team: hi! And unix.stackexchange.com/users?tab=moderators

Hello. Not sure whether this is the right place to ask this, or whether there's anyone in the chat at the moment, but could somebody please give me a hand with reinstalling my OS? Tried various things and it won't have it.
Says there's no file system or something.

"Submit" button doesn't enable to do review the posts

Am I banned or something else?

I can see last recent review for someone was in 2min ago, but for me "Submit" button is still not being enable
on AskUbuntu it's also same for me

Q: "Submit" button in review queues remains Disabled

αғsнιηI noticed that when reviewing the review queues the "Submit" button is not being enable to finish the review. I checked in U&L and AU, none working.

@αғsнιη As far as I can see, you are not suspended from reviews.
I also can't reproduce what you are seeing. In some queues, you can't click "Submit" until you've actually taken a particular action.

@αғsнιη in Vote To Close review for instance, "submit" is disable, you have to choose either "Leave open", "close" or "edit", then either "submit" or "skip". In other queue either do an action (edit, edit tags, upvote/downvote, etc ..) before submit, or "I'm done"

9:34 AM
@JeffSchaller Probably not the rest of time. As long as SE survives, which is unclear.

@Kusalananda @Archemar yes, I'm not new to new designed review queues, I was doing the same on AU where this new design was applied on AU before on U&L. I had no issue on same browser but today I couldn't do any review on Edge (specifc version 44.xxxx)

@A.B. Thia chat room isn't a helpdesk, despite what people coming here often seem to think. That being said, people here are often willing to help, though not to the extent of a handheld walkthrough of an installation.
You might want to start by saying what your OS is. And you're trying to reinstall from scratch? How?

my irony meter is twitching

Arg, no one in raspberry's chat room !! anyone here using ubuntu on a PI 4 ?

Nice weather today!

Apparently a Norwegian saying (I was exposed to it through Josh Waitzkin): "There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing."

4:21 PM
@JeffSchaller cyclists use that one too

5:10 PM
so then I wonder what a Norwegian cyclist would say...

> Many Norwegians (at least in Oslo) approach biking as they do cross-country skiing or long distance running: intensely.
So perhaps they would say: "There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing."

With that in mind, there is no problem with the system, only lack of understanding.

5:37 PM
@JeffSchaller Swedish too. It helps that "weather" and "clothing" rhymes ("väder", "kläder", in Swedish).

@Kusalananda besides rhyme, isn't there some other relationship between the 2 words?

@slybloty Not linguistically, really. In Norwegian it's "vær" and "klær" (which also rhymes).

Google's too much. I did a google search for väder and it showed me the local weather!

:-)

ooh, never realized that connection between the words even though I know the phrase

5:41 PM
Wiktionary points to different etymologies

Would've been funny to have some connection.

There’s a similar saying in French, with a similar rhyme: “il n’y a pas de mauvais temps, juste de mauvais équipements” (more general than clothing)

In that case, my equipment needs some improvement.

@JeffSchaller Presumably, if you search for "Darth väder" it should give you the forecast for tonight, right?

:D

5:50 PM
@terdon ... in the quaint little town of Darth

@StephenKitt I just went ahead and did my provincial thing and assumed that "Darth" would be "dark" in some Scandinavian language or other.

@terdon ok, are you using Stephen's robot spy cam right now? I was just passing along a Youtube video to someone else -- the Imperial March, played on floppy drives

@JeffSchaller Ha! And what's worse, I know the video.
Unfortunately, my joke only works if you're as ignorant as I am. Turns out dark is variations of mörk in both Norwegian and Swedish. So "Darth" won't cut it.

@terdon presumably from a similar origin as “murky” in English ;-)

5:54 PM
> "gloom, darkness," c. 1300, myrke, from Old Norse myrkr "darkness," from Proto-Germanic *merkwjo- (source also of Old English mirce "murky, black, dark;" as a noun, "murkiness, darkness," Danish mǿrk "darkness," Old Saxon mirki "dark"); perhaps cognate with Old Church Slavonic mraku, Serbo-Croatian mrak, Russian mrak "darkness;" Lithuanian merkti "shut the eyes, blink," from PIE *mer- "to flicker" (see
morn). In Middle English also as an adjective (c. 1300, from Old Norse) and a verb. Sometimes spelled mirk, especially in Scotland. Mirk Monday was long the name in Scotland for the great s
Indeed :)

@terdon I've seen multiple. Also Darude: Sandstorm

oh my! Now I wonder if Darude were inspired ... "if they can make music with floppy disks, maybe we can make money off a song that sounds exactly the same?"

Oh wow. I knew that song but had no idea what it was called.
Takes me back!

I first heard it on nokia phones. Best medium ever.
