I don't know about Universities. I know I attempted several times to re- enroll and finish the last year of my degree, but they declined all such application, until enough time had surpassed that my credits were null and void. The student debt however remained. But at least now I truly don't mind, there is nothing they have to offer me

I am staff, but anybody can walk onto campus and access all the library databases as I understand it

I have to finish reading the graph book. The sooner the better.

If the goal is knowledge retention for its own sake, fair enough, but if it's with the idea of "a software engineering interview" then attaining a functional level of some common language is far more necessary and close to sufficient

Compared to India, they're very open.

This may partly reflect the fact that Americans aren't very interested in reading, by and large, especially academic style reading. So abuse isn't a major issue.

@Tim I'm puzzled by your first sentence. Most of India is illiterate, and most of the remainder isn't very interested in reading either. They are more interested in getting a good job and making money. Also, family. So I don't agree with that statement in general. Of course, some people are interested in reading, as is the case anywhere.
