@terdon Well... I've noticed that kids nowadays need videos to instruct them because they show how things work while being performed and they can mimic them while being done, whereas us old farts will read the entire manual and keep the TOC and index handy for future reference.

In today's world of always-on Internet with Google at your fingertips, we can still solve problems while off the grid, but when was the last time you really were in that situation?

So yes, it's funny that you think the world has come to an end, but no, it's not funny that the Internet has become the memory of the next generation...

But alas: that's called progress.

@overexchange You're much more efficient reading text than watching a video.

A video takes a fixed amount of time (unless you watch at 1.5 speed) and text can be read much quicker.

Text can be searched, it can be copied, it can be skimmed. Video can't do any of these things. For some things, videos are great, but for others they're awful.

@Fabby we have five senses.... Video utilise our two sensors(eye/ear), text utilise only one sensor(eye) for information input. This impacts brain to process innformation accordinngly. So, information capture approach is more matured in video, if the video is giving appropriate information.
