@Catija Having edited anonymously for a long time and gotten edit-banned, I can tell you where that spam message comes from. If an IP gets insta-banned, all previous suggestions from that IP will display that message. I don't know if there are any other triggers, but I know that one exists.

Yagmoth is correct, it's one way to draw attention to something. However, there are two goals one might be looking to accomplish by doing so: Get more feedback from the community on a particular discussion or feature-request, Get some kind of official response on a particular discussion feature...

@gparyani I can ping a dev to try & fix your old profile, or I can just delete it.

Option #1 gets you into chat in 6-8 days, option #2 gets you in in 6-8 minutes.

Your call.

These days we automatically delete chat profiles when all associated main-site profiles are removed, which should avoid this particular decision.
