@ypercube Not just @MaxVernon's familiarity with PostgreSQL but also his dedication to ridding the world of MySQL is right there in the topmost reasons for my support... It's always good to have a mod familiar with PostgreSQL or Oracle, but his or her disgust in MySQL is just the cream of the crop in my humble opinion.. ;)

@uygar.raf I actually do run some MySQL databases - it does have its place. However, I'm with you on attempting to steer people in other directions when the argument is "its free, therefore I must use it". PostgreSQL is free, and it's far and away a better product.
