I wanted to install a "light-weight" desktop environment on a system, so I started installing "lubuntu-desktop"... Boy was that not light-weight! Why does it even need ImageMagick, Bluetooth stuff, and libvorbis? In hindsight, I should have just installed flwm as usual.
I think part of my issue was that I had the wrong idea of what "desktop" means nowadays. It's not just something that allows you to move windows around.

@Kusalananda I think the idea there is more "lightweight replacement of a Windows desktop" and not "lightweight desktop manager". And it's still lightweight if you compare to things like KDE and Gnome.
@Kusalananda if you only want a window manager and not the full desktop experience, I always go to lwm
It's been a while since I had to compile it; hope it's current

@terdon I think maybe "light-weight" means "does not use much resources". I wanted something where it meant "does not have many dependencies".
@Kusalananda Ah yes, I think that is exactly what light weight means, at least, I understand it as "needing few resources".
