It is possible to send a followup email to this thread? alioth-lists.debian.net/pipermail/pkg-exim4-users/2015-May/…
I have a vague memory that in some cases it's possible to download the "raw" emails into a file, and this then looks just like a folder to my MUA (Alpine). I've certainly done this before. But it's been a while since I did that, and it might depend on how the mail archives are set up.

I think a comment would have helped, yes, but I think the main problem is that (I probably) dealt with this flag from outside of the queue. Inside of the queue, it would have gotten a "this is commentary on another post" response (from me). I should have let that flag go through the queue, so -- sorry for the mixed message! .
Outside the queue, my definition of "NAA" is pretty small, so anything that looks vaguely relevant to the question falls outside of that, which is probably why I declined the flag there.
It's interesting looking back at my "NAA" thoughts over the years. 2018, 2020a, 2020b, 2021 , 2022
pretty consistently "you should flag it and it should be deleted", and this is a good reminder for me to slow down some more and let the queue handle things, or wait for a time to make comments/edits in those situations.
@StephenKitt matching your "reacting a bit late", I see I forgot to ping you with any of my responses above, so -- ping! :)

@JeffSchaller thanks!

re-reading my messages, they clearly lacked caffeine, so if I need to explain it differently, please let me know! I'll raise my caffeine-to-blood ratio before I do, though :)

What I understood is that it’s all down to different flag processes, and lack of context. On my end, adding a comment would have helped the context; on your end, letting the review queues take care of reviewable flags would have avoided the conflict (with the later decision taken by the community).
In any case the occasional declined flag doesn’t matter, I was more curious about how to clarify things.

mental state is huge, what can I say; if I had just come from the LQP queue and deleted 4 "thanks", then seeing something vaguely relevant doesn't look like an NAA. But if I'm curating a Q/A and have all that context loaded in my head, then I can make a better decision about it.
but really, the optimal strategy is "just let terdon handle it" ;) (seeing him recently enter the chat)

Dunno about that. In my experience, the "just let Jeff handle it" approach works best.

You'll just have to convince Stephen of that ;)
