@jesse_b That's very expensive compared to standard wired broadband here. My current plans are all around Rs. 600 a month. That's for Cable, DSL and Fiber Optic. They're all around the same price. At the lowest level, naturally. But at around 50 megabits per second, that is still plenty fast. Rs 600 is around USD 7.60.

It was a bit more, but the rupee nosedived against the dollar recently.

I remember standard/normal US broadband plans being around USD 20 a month. Is that still the case?

@terdon I've never had internet service cheaper than ~$70 a month, when I had fiber I think it was $150 a month but that was roughly 10 years ago when it was a very new thing

Fiber isn't an option where I currently live, I only have 3 options basically one is point to point wireless for $90 and two other satellite providers that are like $120-150

Internet and telephony in general is insanely expensive in the US.

A lot of people build their own basically from scratch too but that seems like more than I would want to take on

That one is only $200 but even if it's high quality (which it doesn't look like it judging from the size of that motor) the size limitations would probably become annoying fast

The one I got has a 33"x33" cutting surface and I've already been making drawings that exceed that

I've recently discovered a huge appreciation of sculpting

I know how difficult it is to draw things, hands for example are notoriously difficult to get in the right proportions. I know the whole rest of the world was way ahead of me on this but that is why michelangelo's work is so impressive. The detail on everything, the feet, etc

and to do it in marble!

although to be fair the proportions on the statue of david's hands are wildly inaccurate lol
