Q: Unintended quotation marks appearing in grim file name

Tyler DurdenI don't quite understand why I am getting some odd behavior trying to generate a screenshot file name when using grim/slurp. If I do this: grim -g "$(slurp)" "$HOME/screenshot-$(date).png" I get: screenshot-Sat 27 Jun 2020 06:02:36 PM EDT Which is ok except that the time does not sort in my fil...

four close votes for "Community-specific reason" / "Other - add comment" but no comments in sight...

@ilkkachu why are you using -e in your answer? Are there grep implementations that actually require that?
Or is it just force of habit?

force of habit

Fair enough. I was just curious since I haven't come across a grep variant that requires it, so I thought you might know of one. Thanks.
@ilkkachu The comment is there, it's just more informative than we're used to. I think you can also see it in the timeline (mods can, not sure about non-mods): unix.stackexchange.com/posts/595435/timeline
But the comment associated with the close vote is this one:
The $( .. ) syntax substitution has higher precedence than the outer quotes, so the quoting rules start afresh inside it. But I would have expected you to get screenshot-"200627_19:35:39".png. — Paul_Pedant Jun 28 at 8:20

@terdon non-mod cannot see relation between the comment you pointed out and close reason.

@terdon oh, sorry, I misread. The closevotes are on "a typo or went away by itself". It just shows the "Other - leave comment" in bold so I homed on that.
There's the [4]. Plain as day.

@Archemar Argh, mods (or, non-stupid mods) should be able to read! My bad, I just saw the name of the close voter and it was a user who had left that helpful comment, so I assumed the large block of text was the comment.
In fact, the timeline shows very clearly what @ilkkachu just confirmed, the votes are for the non-repro reason.

Here are some questions that I have had for a while and didn't dare to ask

Q: What is a data structure, in terms of computability theory?

TimIn computability theory, an algorithm is exactly a Turing machine. What is a data structure, in terms of computability theory then? Can computability theory be used for defining the concept of data structure? (I guess no, because otherwise, computability books should have mentioned data strcture...

Q: In terms of computability theory, what is a programming language?

TimIn terms of computability theory, what is a programming language? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turing_completeness says In computability theory, a system of data-manipulation rules (such as a computer's instruction set, a programming language, or a cellular automaton) is said to be Turing-compl...

Thanks if some peeps could share their knowledge.

Just learned about the Climate Strike License when someone suggested that one of the largest third-party python libraries should adopt it
it's a hilarious movement aimed at selectively unfreeing code
