@terdon No, my intention was to make diagrams of shell syntax constructs, such as while loops etc.
I.e., the grammar, not of any one particular use of the grammar.

Weeeell, as long as it takes input in a sane format.
BTW, I just finished reading "UNIX, A History and a Memoir" by Brian Kernighan. I can recommend it.
