Hey, @MyWrathAcademia. I see someone else posted the same solution, so I'll just give a quick explanation here. The $ means "the end of the line", so /.* ([^ ]+ [^ ]+)$/ means match everything (.*) until one or more non-space characters ([^ ]+) which are followed by a space and then another set of one or more non-space characters, until the end of the line. That allows you to find the last two words of the line.

Yours was failing because you were not anchoring the regex anywhere, you weren't telling it to search at the end of the line, so it was finding the first words and not the last ones.

Hmm, apt tells me that some packages have been kept back, but my usual solution with --with-new-pkgs doesn't seem to help (neither with apt nor apt-get). I'm on debian bullseye. Any tips? I suspect I could install those packages manually and then set them to automatically installed, but that smells like an XY problem.

Hmm, it's possible that the issue is that the held-back packages need to remove stuff...though I'm not sure why that'd be the case. Most of them are libreoffice-related.

I might need apt-get's --ignore-hold...
