@AaronHall That sounds a little subjective for an SE site.
Something might exist outside of SE.
Do you know more precisely what you are looking for? I imagine this is too basic: websitebuilderexpert.com/building-websites/…
@JeffSchaller I ended up just adding the Latin American keyboard layout to all my computers. Super+Space to swap layouts and then [+e to get é and then Super+Space back to ENG

@Seth US layout with dead keys lets you use AltGr + e to get é, AltGr + Backtick then e gives è, AltGr + double quote then e gives ë.

@Seth thanks, Seth!
Has anyone here dealt with the latest sudo issue (CVE-2019-14287)?

@JeffSchaller yes, I applied the distro update ;-)

@StephenKitt well done :)

I wonder how common the required sudoers setup is though, I imagine the impact isn’t all that great in practice.

Right -- who has "someone (systems)=(ALL) [not ALL]"
I should say: "untrusted-users (systems)=(ALL) [not ALL]"

Am I being dense here or is this really hard to understand?

Q: Turn (baby) monster oneliner into a "two-liner" (shell group commands with redir/pipe/substitiution)

rastafileI just got an upvote answering a general Q on bash whitespace and grammar. The syntactical WS, as it is socalled. You can find it. I then tried to come up with a good example of where whitespace and grammar matter and where they don't. So I created this, just to make it complex in a simple way: ...

And yes, I know the two are not mutually exclusive.

@terdon takes more caffeine than I have on-board right now

@terdon I vote for really hard to understand
That’s not the first time I’ve found rastafile’s writings hard to understand; see e.g. the comments on both the Q & A in unix.stackexchange.com/q/546457/86440

@StephenKitt I thought you were going to mention unix.stackexchange.com/questions/546586/…

@JeffSchaller oh wow yes that is quite something too

(adding "that is quite something" to my list of responses)

one of those great British-isms

12:23 PM
Seems on-par with the US-Southern "Bless your heart"

ha ha yes
I’ve actually had “Bless your heart” addressed to me here...
(or “at me” perhaps)

well isn't that something!
It does appear that my attempt at a chat room for feedback on that suggested edit has fallen flat
I'm wondering if I borked the ping syntax

@JeffSchaller is it possible to see whether users joined and left the chat room?

@StephenKitt I'm not aware of a way yet; checking

because one of the users’ subsequent edits gave me the impression the advice had been taken on board

12:27 PM
I suppose it's possible that they could read the transcript without joining it, too. And I don't see a way off-hand to list "people who have entered the room"

@JeffSchaller ah yes, that’s a possibility too

chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/info/99621/… suggests "1 all time users", which ... I'm just going to leave alone
if the advice has been taken, then I'm happy. I'll leave the room and we can let it die on the vine, if that's OK with you, @StephenKitt?

@JeffSchaller yup, thanks for going to all that effort!

@StephenKitt no trouble at all; yet another opportunity to learn more about SE :)

I seem to be having difficulties reaching web.telegram.org.
I'm not sure if the issue is the https thing. I'm trying to get HTTPS Everywhere to turn it off for this site, but it's not cooperating.

9:21 PM
Switched internet lines, and the other one works. Sometimes it's useful to have multiple net connections. Sigh.

@derobert thanks m80!
