@RuiFRibeiro Nature of the beast, they used to steal my blog a while ago too. Nothing I could really do about it. Nothing like seeing your content wrapped in some other jerks adds on another site.

@Jesse_b Impressive initiative. How old were you?

9:36 AM
@slm Yeah. I reported it to SE, at least it disappears from Google search
@Jesse_b Pity they chose the past over the future...
@Jesse_b I actually played with Xenix servers at work, and had SCO V at home later on

9:57 AM
@FaheemMitha I did that from the 4th grade until mid high school
so probably around 9-10 years old to 16

@Jesse_b Did you make much money?
That's quite a long time.

@FaheemMitha Not really, or at least it was all wasted so it doesn't seem that way. We mostly made money on supporting the machines once we sold them because there weren't that many people to sell to in my neighborhood. But once they had them we would often get approached about helping with some technical issue for $5-10

@Jesse_b Wasted? On what?
Candy? Video games?

@FaheemMitha Yeah pretty much. I remember going into the local convenience store one day and buying almost all of their candy
we were buying the boxes the candy came in instead of individual pieces of candy

10:14 AM
@Jesse_b Wow, that must have been a lot of candy.
I take it your parents didn't tell you to save for your college education?
I wonder how much disease sugar has caused. It's a relatively new thing in human diets.

10:45 AM
@FaheemMitha They did not but I knew from an early age that I wasn't interested in college
@FaheemMitha I'm not sure but I know it leads to inflammation and inflammation is big part of many diseases

@Jesse_b Well, I think weight gain is a big issue. Though I'm not a nutritionist or a dietician.
It's also not great for teeth.

11:07 AM
My mac is starting to act like windows, I have to reboot it to make things work

11:21 AM
@FaheemMitha I have heard that some of the "untouched" tribes we have discovered have really healthy teeth despite having no dental care, fluoride, brushing habits, etc
because sugar is mostly not in their diet

1:23 PM
@Jesse_b Yes, sugar is heaven for mouth bacteria. Still teeth do decay. I'd be surprised if they do nothing at all. In India it used to be traditional to use charcoal. I'm not sure if that is carcinogenic or not.

@Jesse_b I do not have complaints about my two Macs...now this Lenovo running linux...bah....when synaptics is dead, one reboot in Windows to get it alive, and often X does not allow me to open more windows....And then people say Linux is ready to the desktop. And I already solved other network and radeon problem ....

A: What should our site's header graphic be?

GillesI like dave559's suggestion of bees. Bees perform a vital function in nature, they're industrious and they all work together as a complicated society. I'd like to go a little further and request an image with multiple bees of different species, to symbolize the diversity of the Unix ecosystem. I...

Bees!
Kudos to dave559 for the idea

Q: Imminent drive failure: OP in need of reopening question

FabbyEarlier today I ran across this question and I've already left a comment that OP should take a full system backup because it "felt" like a hardware error. (Intuition, old fart here) Can we re-open this question ASAHP so that a well-funded answer can be posted? (or a duplicate found?). NRN to th...
