And a random visitor to the chat might have just thought he was being either rude or plain strange/eccentric. Such is the fate of humorists - to be misunderstood.
@StephenKitt Would you call your French fluent or native?
any way I tend to do not take any offense from jokes even the very boderlines one. I think I could joke of almost anything. I think the laught is the only way to accept the horrible world we leave in.
@FaheemMitha I never learn more than french and english (one could say I had lessons of spanish but never I was even able to do a whole sentence in spanish :D) anyway I have no idea if French is really hard or not, but I found it pretty hard even though I'm born in France... So many exceptions.
I suppose people feel the same about native English speakers. As it is, even I can barely follow when people talk in American films. They speak so poorly - it's like they are trying to be incomprehensible. British media is much better in that respect. British people, at least the RP type people, tend to speak clearly. I'm tempted to say "educated", but that's a loaded word.
@FaheemMitha I don't thing so, but we already had the debate in here. I still think it's pretty straight forward. each language needs its specifics to express all the subtlety of a human thoughs
"English spelling is a nightmare." I think you overreact here. it's not easy but nothing is when it comes to express what we humans feels and need to express.
If you don't want to install iperf (which is not the most reliable tool I've use in the past IMHO), you can use pv and netcat
You would first need to install pv and netcat (it's available in most distro).
On the receiving site you will need a listening socket on a reachable port:
#if you want ...
I've never really use netcat nor pv could it be a proper usage ?
I'm using pv for sending files via ssh.
I can change "active pv" the limit at under 100M without any problem.
When i set active pv process to 100M or 1G or higher I cant change rate anymore...
BUT! if i change 5-10 times 1M to 2M, 2M to 1M pv can set sometimes to new rate.
I couldn't find any...
