This is the problem, 2 answers did not help me
 
define "does not work" ... Emacs doesn't start, you can't find the file, you can't write to the file, the file is empty, the universe implodes?
generally avoid sudo emacs, you can use sudo inside Emacs with Tramp

Chris ConwaySuppose I want to open a file in an existing Emacs session using su or sudo, without dropping down to a shell and doing sudoedit or sudo emacs. One way to do this is C-x C-f /sudo::/path/to/file but this requires an expensive round-trip through SSH. Is there a more direct way? [EDIT] @JBB is ...

 
Since emacs is installed in a location which is not in root's path, just use the full path to it. It's not that hard.
Or use sudoedit (with EDITOR and/or VISUAL set to emacs or the full path to emacs).
