So...why is it that no one on this site votes?

@John See meta.android.stackexchange.com/questions/578/… and meta.android.stackexchange.com/questions/819/… for some previous discussion on voting (or the lack thereof) essentially we seem to get a high proportion of drive-by and short-term users, with only a relatively small high-rep core participating fully and voting regularly

@GAThrawn But even the people that seem to be participating regularly haven't voted much. Compare to Gaming and Ask Ubuntu. You can't get on their first page of all-time voters with less than 1k votes. There's a mod here with less votes than that.

Speaking of which, I thought this site had another election, yet I only see 3 mods...

For a more short-term look, compare this week of voters here to the week of voters on English. To disregard the sheer numbers, we'll take only the top 5 of each category. There's quite a discrepancy.

@John we did have an election, but as far as I know it was only ever for 3 mods (all the previous Mod pro-tems had to re-apply at the time).

@John I have no idea why but a low voting rate has always been a problem here, we took a long time to come out of beta, primarily because a lack of high-rep users, due to a low voting rate
