@DanHulme @Firelord Thanks. I guess I'll wait for answers then.

@Izzy But..but I'm color blind. :P

@DanHulme Agreed, but the tag is bad; I've removed it. cc @Izzy

@Firelord The darker one is the red, the lighter one orange. In terms of the good old b&w TV: "dark grey" and "light gray" :)
@DanHulme They're trying to achieve something with an app that happens to be available for Android as well, and which has nothing to do with Android at all (to me, it's like asking "how to buy milk with the Amazon app" – yes, sure you can do that on Android. But the relevant part of the answer has nothing at all to do with Android).
Well, I usually keep my fingers out of those WA/Viber/… stuff and leave those decisions to those familiar with them, so no worries I'm going to shoot :)

Anything interesting you see above?

@Firelord Gimme that app! I also want to have more in my device than fits in #D
ZRAM?
Or cRam? #D
(c=cloud)

@Izzy Settings -> Memory doesn't report it and I don't think device would be needing it given that 3GB seems ample.
Hold on. ZRAM seems something else now that I'm reading about it.
Nope. /proc/swaps doesn't list anything.

@Izzy I don't think that's true. They're trying to do it on Android, and the method is probably specific to the Android app. The fact that the same app is also available on other platforms is irrelevant.

@DanHulme You've an opinion not reflected here meta.android.stackexchange.com/q/1997/96277. Mind if you put it there too. That would be great. Thanks!

@DanHulme My impression seems to be wrong then. That's why I didn't VTC: I'm not working with those services, so my reasoning has no base :)

@Izzy I don't use them either, and I'd quite happily delete all installations of WhatsApp from everyone's phones, but I've seen enough "cross-platform" apps that are completely different on Android and iPhone that I assume "how do I do x in app" is usually platform-specific.
That's why I don't agree with comments like this one:
There's a slight differents between "issues with using an app on Android", and asking for specific features on a wide-spread multi-platform "virus" like WhatsApp. While I'd consider the former on-topic, I'd VTC the latter as "Android independent". — Izzy Aug 22 '15 at 11:09
I think a question that's relevant to our site about using an Android app doesn't magically become irrelevant when the publisher releases an iPhone version of the app

It's just... hard to judge. Issue regarding WhatsApp web using barcode scanner is on-topic, but how to recover WhatsApp group's admin position is off-topic.

@AndrewT. @DanHulme that's basically what I meant.
Hard to draw a precise line though, I admit that.

I've seen this in one or two posts elsewhere too that some folks use the command fastboot flash boot filename.img to flash recovery. How can it work at all?

prof.ZoomCaution: Unocking Bootloader will void your warranty and format your device. Proceed at your own risk. Download ADB and install it- google it Turn off your phone and press vol- and power button. Release power button after 4-5 sec, youll see the bootloader menu. Now release the vol- too. @Firelord That looks pretty wrong to me. TWRP's own instructions say to use fastboot flash recovery so it doesn't include a boot image, and it would be really weird if it did
I only found one other post here advising to install recovery via that command, and it was a non-answer so I deleted it
