like the secure_setting permission ,from android kitkat and up apps under /system/app are treated as third party except for t
for the uninstall by user
apps under priv-app are the real system apps on kitkat an above
any app out if /system/priv-app will not access any of the permission in Settings.Secure.* there is alot of permissions there like LOCATION_MODE and others full list is here developer.android.com/reference/android/provider/…

@lord-ralf-adolf Ok, I see now. The key-pairs for secure settings is actually saved in the table secure of the database settings.db, though I would search more about /system/priv-app since I didn't encounter this concept before in my 4-5 months of experience here.
@Izzy 13 to go! :)

1:29 AM
wow, this place is dead

@Firelord Yeah _o/

@Firelord 8 to go :)

10:16 AM
YAY! 50k :D Congrats to me #D

Congrats :D Only 2640 more till you have 10x as much rep as me!

@bmdixon Wow :) Yeah, but that will take a few more weeks (while your rep will increase as well). Meanwhile:
And, BTW:
Guess that account will soon be suspended. Hopefully …

10:35 AM
That person should have at least used the 'Answer your own question' feature so that their question would be less suspicious

Flagged both

Hell yeah! All hail the first 50k of the site @Izzy. Congrats! though I'm late to the party.

Make sure you won't be late for his 100k party :P
Even though it's probably not happening any time soon

11:07 AM
congrats @Izzy

11:29 AM
Thanks all!
@Arielle Yeah, it will probably take a few days.
3-digit :)

11:42 AM
@Firelord hehe, we're stepping on each other's feet: 3 simultaneous edits on that developers-options question :)

12:09 PM
@Izzy LOL on my revision comment since I thought Lucky would be the last editor as I improved the edit, but considering what happened here, I'm speechless.

1 hour later…
1:18 PM
@Firelord "This edit conflicted with a subsequent edit." – which was probably mine. And while I tried to merge that, yours came in. That's what I meant by "3 simultaneous edits".

1:36 PM
I kinda figured it out after my comment, and considering the changes your edit has (Lucky suggested some).

anyone had any luck getting sublime text to work on android? It's like the one tool I need to make my tablet a full dev environment

3:31 PM
@Firelord thanks for reminding me of bounty-hunting yesterday. Not only gained a bounty, but I had completely missed that question otherwise – so you've helped me to help someone helping me to a bounty :) (in case of confusion: Android ADB connect to device with broken USB and no root)

3:45 PM
The author of this answer posted two answers on different posts with a link (the website) in common. That link seems to bug me (vibes of SPAM if you open it), not to mention both answers are low quality being link-only ones. I didn't flag anything yet.
@Izzy I reminded you! I checked the history and don't see when I did that except that "hot question" part. But anyhow, at least somebody is helped. :)

LOL: @Firelord Cyanogen OS never existed in Gingerbread days :)
@Firelord That was what I was referring to ("hot question"). And yes, that was the main goal ("somebody is helped") :)
@Firelord Checking …

@Izzy Ahem, I meant it for the author of the question. OP thought I was talking to him.

@Firelord ??? What's the difference between "OP" and "author of the question"? Well, nevermind :)

4:00 PM
@Izzy "Author of the answer". I'm out of my league today. :) But the comment is correct on the answer at least.

@Firelord Sure? I checked the profile, it says "1 post". What did you say was in your glass? :)

@Izzy In a time frame of 16 minutes (July 15), that user posted two answers with one thing in common. Both having links to the site "fonepaw.com" which I think was linked in spam answers earlier.
That site also sells data recovery software!
Not that I'm saying I've any issue, it's just that site reminds me that I saw it in Spam answers earlier.

@Firelord Yes, that last link is a bit suspicious. So if the intention was just to advert that site, that answerer did a good job: unless you can prove him wrong, it's a valid answer …
Hm, or you can prove his (hidden) affiliation, that is.

@Izzy Well that's why I said I didn't flag it yet.

4:17 PM
@Firelord More suspicious: Check this google search
And see where else our Robert wrote about Fonepaw. He seems to have a zoo of different devices running all kind of OSses.
And checking those platforms he posted to: usually only 1…2 answers on each, and each answer is just about … guess: yeah, same product.

5:09 PM
@Izzy Seems persistent for the task considering the time when he posted those answers at other sites. // Wait a minute, did somebody mark it as SPAM. or reported the user to a Moderator? The account is nuked!

1 hour later…
6:16 PM
@Firelord Ooops. Afraid that was me :)
The report part, I mean. Got no nukies at hand here #D
We might never know, but next to those Google results I've posted to the mods (with some details), it might well be the account worked from an IP a bit too close to that site.

That shameless feeling when you're testing formatting in comments on a question with no score or comments or answers or even having 300 views when around 60 days old, and forgot to delete them (useless) because you fell asleep, and then when you wake up you find that an answer has been posted on that same question. That's what invokes super swift action. :D // Lesson: Sleep well first, as formatting isn't going anywhere!
