I've just updated the link personalizer userscript. As it didn't contain an update URL before, I thought I just drop you a note here; now an updateURL is set, so if you've installed this version, future updates should come automatically:

@Izzy Thanks :)

@bmdixon Anytime :) Had to fix some URL handlings (especially concerning links to other stacks), so updating is strongly recommended :)

How are you all? You guys using the stack exchange app?

I'm not, no.

Saw tempted to make one myself but the official one is very nice

Hi :) I use it

Saw = was! I'm on my phone atm

If there is something you think it's missing then suggest it as it is updated quite often with new features

It's a nice little app, but hard to type out replies on a phone keyboard

@RossC It's not possible: they don't include enough functionality in the site API, to stop people making apps that robo-answer questions and the like.
The public API doesn't let you post anything but comments (and even that was a recent addition).

@RossC: I love it
though, I really wish it made it easier to check sites in a more... organised manner
... never mind. found it ;p

Ah cool that's sensible
Lol

Honestly: What I'm missing here, and why does it feel strange? android.stackexchange.com/q/62945/16575
I thought I was kidding with my comment. Now the question is: Who's kidding whom here? I cannot believe he really didn't know a battery needs to be charged. Just wanted to point out we need a few more details...
Yuck Guess my comment back-fired on me...

I don't think he understood your comment

@DanHulme He might have taken it as "your battery is broken, go for a replacement?"

High rep on s.o. Assume he knows what he's doing...

I finally did it! That one was bothering me for far too long. Made a self-test now.

A: Why do so many applications require permission to read the phone state and identity?

IzzyThis question has been bothering me quite some time. So now, finally, I decided to get to the bottom of the issue. The Playstore has an app named permission.READ_PHONE_STATE, which requests READ_PHONE_STATE as the only permission, and does nothing else than printing out all data it can access wi...

Name of the permission is completely misleading. It's not about "phone state" at all!

@Izzy There's one more thing to bear in mind: Google Play policy now forbids apps from getting your IMEI to identify you for advertising purposes. All the ad libraries have been updated now to use the Google-Play-Services-provided "advertising ID", so any that still use the IMEI should be reported to Google.

@DanHulme I wonder if everybody sticks to that. And how users shall find out. Thanks for the pointer, though!
I also wonder concerning push-ads, which have been banned about a year ago. AppBrain still lists plenty of apps using them.
