@Izzy because they've added appropriate intent filters to the manifest (and possibly changed the URL-handling code if it wasn't already following the redirect)
so if you click a youtu.be link now, the Youtube app appears alongside other browsers in the chooser

Yes, I see that. I don't see it as that useful for ASE, because our queue's never that long and we don't have enough disjoint areas of expertise
but since you're so excited I assume you already had an idea of what you'd use it for?
