This room seems pretty dead, but: does anyone know of a beginner's guide to contributing to Linux kernel drivers? I have a USB device that works with an already existing driver if I manually "bind" the vendor & product id to the driver (as per this), and, after that, looking at this file,
seems to suggest that I could make it work for everyone else that has the same device by just adding the device & vendor ID to the devices table in there.
How do I go about checking this is the right way to do it, and then how do I actually submit the change?
