@FeralOink I think a few people do care enough about such issues, but not enough with rep high enough to do anything about it.
@FeralOink It is in principle possible that HFT are earning an amount commensurate (or somewhat less than) what society is willing to pay for the service they provide. However, my personal opinion is that HFT has long since passed that point when HFT tech providers started talking about fractions of seconds.
In other words, I can see providing execution within around 1 sec as being valuable to society, but I just don't see the value in going much lower than that.

@FeralOink I'm active on PF as well, and have occasionally visited the chat. I think chat should be not only for chatting about the topic of the SE, but also for chatting informally about the site itself, for more rapid-response brainstorming ideas on how to improve the site than can happen on the meta.

@TalFishman Tag related privileges are quite restricted at the moment (global rep + per tag involvement required), so it may be a bit hard without some moderator help.
