If a teacher gives a minimum page count for a paper does that include the abstract and title page?

@William: I would assume page limits do not refer to title page or abstract. But why not just ask and clarify?

I was afraid it was a stupid question. I guess academic journal and college papers are different.

@William you realize it is a minimum page count. Unless your writing is very succinct you probably should exceed the minimum.

Thank you. I don't disagree. It is my first online class and everything is structured differently then I would guess.

@StrongBad @aeismail As a side note, being one who frequently collaborates with a few research institutes around the world (a specific type of institutes, the so-called National Metrology Institutes), I have the impression that, generally speaking, in academia there is a poor understanding of the "outer" research environment.

Just to give you an idea, in the last 10 years, at every newly appointed head of department I had to explain why on earth I'm also associated and collaborating with the Italian National Metrology Institute and that, no, this collaboration is not against the interest of the university and that there is even a collaboration agreement between the two institutions :-(
