Can you explain me accusative and nominative case slightly?
Btw @Man_From_India Which state are you from?

But let me tell you I completely forgot grammar.

Do you know what is object case and possessive case?

I know but please explain it slightly through an example

No no no @RajorshiKoyal we should stick to English only here. So please

@Man_From_India Please ping me whenever you are free. I am waiting.:-)

3:15 PM
@RajorshiKoyal it's another name of subject and object case.
For example: "he" is nominative case and "him" is the accusative case.
I think you were looking for a good book for English grammar. But what is your goal?

I am preparing for Bank PO,LIC AAO
etc.

If it is for clearing job exams, then you are good to go with Wren and Martin. Though I am not sure what kind of questions are asked there. But from my very brief experience on some websites that deal with job exams it seems that school level grammar is asked there and similar answers that are considered correct in school os expected.

Have you heard the name of these exams?
Ok any better or more difficult book
Btw are you in school now?
Can you assist me slightly?

No my school is over.

Where did u do your schooling from?
I am from Don Bosco myself :-)

3:24 PM
I think I also read Wren and Martin back in school but I simply can't remember because my subject was not English. And I read grammar in very elementary level, in my initial days of school days.
Ummm a local school, and bengali medium.

How do you know English so well then?
Are you doing a job now?

Right now I am.not the right person to guide you on grammar, because I completely forgot grammar.

Guide me with all that you know

Yes I am doing job rn.

It is more than enough..:-)
Where?
You English is fabulous as I can figure out from SE

3:27 PM
I don't know English that much. Yes I was a little better a gew years back, but unfortunately not any more

Alright if you know something please answer..

Yes I am trying to get back. But I have time shortage, and can't spend more time here due to health issues and some external troubles in life.

ok I hope it finds you good health..:)
in*
Can we get in touch any time of the day in general.

Thank you. But I am sure you will benefit from ELL a lot.
Sure

3:51 PM
@Man_From_India The King and Queen's journey to India.
Why are they not adding apostrophe after both King and Queen?

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Bad keyword in answer, potentially bad keyword in answer (88): What is the term that describes someone who is not interested in sex? by Rosemarry Mandera on ell.SE

4:08 PM
@SmokeDetector definitely spam

4:25 PM
@RajorshiKoyal here the journey of [king and queen] is considered as a unit.

4:40 PM
How did you figure this out?

Ummm I really have no idea, this seems so trivial that I think I never gave it a thought.
Btw what does your grammar book say?

When one noun is qualified by two possesive nouns both must have the possesive sign, unless joint possession is indicated.

5:01 PM
I don't think I understood it.

5:35 PM
@Man_From_India
Who are Huntly and Palmer can you help me out with this?

5:53 PM
Her, who had been the apple of his eye, he now began to regard with something like distrust.
First tell me..'She' instead of 'her' suits me more in the sentence..Please tell me why it is her..A detailed rule is most welcome.
What is meant by object of a verb or a preposition?
Please explain this to me:-)
@Man_From_India or @M.A.R. If any of you are free please tell.I would need to go through a thorough discussion.

@Man_From_India Ah we have another Bengali speaker?! That's awesome!

4 hours later…
9:50 PM
Hello! When you call someone to learn a bit about what's new with them and such, do you think of that as keeping in touch, getting in touch or touching base, over the phone? If I'm trying to express that to the person I'm calling and I say something like "Just calling to..." would either sound as natural to you in that context? Do you think of those as the same kind of "touch(ing)" so to speak?
Anybody out there?
Anyways, thanks in advance for any insight.
