No sweat! I am just saying, "race is a social construct" itself doesn't say much. It is a statement all its own, but I'd have to see the surrounding context to know how it is used
I just think that some people (both left and right) are too quick to make assumptions about the other and jump to conclusions ... I really like people who talk about things like a researcher and objectively - no condescending remarks to anyone ...
Some people get angry and furious when they hear opposing views ... how about talk about things in an intellectual way and in a civil manner ...
Race obviously exists at a biological level as a concept, but where we draw the lines between races and the yes/no classification of "this person is of the same/different race as that person" is indeed primarily a social construct. One that over the course of history got itself detached from any sort of biological notions.
