@terdon are you there
Hi
Yes
OK, so. What exactly is your script trying to do?
i will directly come to the problem.. is there any way to extract details from youtube-dl (especially percentage) and pipe it to zenity
@potholiday Yes, you'd have to pipe through something else to extract the relevant details. What's confusing me is that you want three separate things.
$per, $time and $file_no
Oh, and your English is fine by the way :)
yeah what i thought was per is for percentage which will pipe to the percnetage
of zenity
and time and file_ no will show in the zenity prgress bar text as time and files left
and thanks i was afraid my english is confusing you
@potholiday Nah. Where are you from?
17:59
India
and you
Greece
and US
:)_
not a programmer here just an enthusiast and you
So, OK, you want i) save the files left and time in a variable and ii) pipe the progress into zenity. Right?
18:00
yes
@potholiday Me neither, I'm actually a biologist :) But I've been playing/working with *nix for many years.
can it be done
@potholiday I think so. I'll try and let you know

Ah! A colleague :)
