@waxeagle all i was trying to say about that tag. i'm going to further specify this in my meta question so it's clear that my intent is to reasonably scope tags...not rid tags due to ignorance or other superficial reasons.

Anybody notice the questions for day count on Area51 fluctuate from 1.1 to 2? If I'm not mistaken, taking total # of questions divided by # of days in beta, or 776/488 = ~1.6.

@waxeagle ahh. why a median instead of a mean? i thought the mean would be a more accurate description of said stat.
 
@edmastermind29 no. A mean can be more affected by a single good day whereas a median gives a picture of overall health. Because it equally weights your good days and bad days

@waxeagle so, if we have a 40 question day...the mean would be more affected than the median? i'm thinking in terms of average vs. middle number...and both would increase in said scenario. so, who's smarter than a 5th grader? lol

{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14} has a median value of 7.5 and a mean of 7.5 but
{1,1,1,1,2,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,12} has a median value of 2 and a mean of 2.14.

@waxeagle right. so, the outliers would not contribute to an accurate presentation of what actually takes place on a typical day.

@waxeagle agreed. all things considered...its the suggested question count for an SE site, but with what we got, I'm pleased. The past few days have been good question days imo...minus the bad eggs...but still good nonetheless.

@edmastermind29 yeah, and SE is pretty realistic about that question count. They know even 5/day isn't a real expectation for some sites
The big thing is getting users with sufficient reputation to actually be able to do something when we graduate. And for that we need a healthier voting culture. And more questions

@waxeagle for the most part, votes are being used within their intended purpose...from what i can see. other cases are questionable...like this. The OP asked for rules, and the answer was "video proof" and it got 5 upvotes....
 
my fear is that we're >1 year in and no one is close to 10k yet. That doesn't bode well for graduation in anything approaching the near term.

Q: Changing Rubber on a Ping Pong Paddle

PorkChopPenfoldI have a ping pong paddle with one side that has sandpaper grip, and another paddle with nicer rubber that unfortunately is broken. I want to put the rubber from the broken paddle on the paddle with the sandpaper rubber. Is there an Easy way to change the rubber on a ping pong paddle?
