Yes, it is an especially US American trait to only see American football as the sport of football, and to consider the two synonymous. As I'm sure you would recall, there were discussions about what football should refer to, and a much greater number of questions about american-football being tagged with it instead.

I will freely admit that I posted here partly to prevent the room from getting forzen. But when I post such message, it is better to post something relevant rather than just "antifreeze: or something similar. So if I can think of something which is at least a bit suitable to post here, I do that instead of some stock comment.
