I think (scoring) is a reasonable tag for this specific question, but if I got it wrong, feel free to let met know.
BTW this question got popular enough to be tweeted on this sites twitter account: twitter.com/StackSport
While we are discussing tags, I would like to thank all users who make effort to improve posts on the site by editing, retagging, etc. sports.stackexchange.com/users?tab=Editors

Thanks Martin, I didn't even know this site has a Twitter account.

The above question reminded me that there also is . But I think the word tie-breaker is meant in a different meaning here. (See also tag-excerpt and tag-wiki.)
> Not all sites have Twitter accounts. We stopped creating them for all public beta sites by default because a) Twitter sees very little engagement for us; b) Twitter-the-company started blocking new accounts for us (probably because it thinks we're bots?) and fighting that got too annoying and time-consuming.
> Having said that, both Twitter accounts and blog links are available on stackexchange.com/sites?view=list.
OTOH I see that has been used as a tag for several tennis questions‌.

I don't see any links to Twitter accounts?

@skullpatrol Do you mean in this list: stackexchange.com/sites?view=list#users ?

Yes.

Just look in the column with number of questions.

Right, got it.
Very handy, thanks.
Shame MathOverflow doesn't have a blog or Twitter link. Perhaps David Hamkins would be interested?

This was discussed on meta.MO a few times: MO Twitter presence?

@skullpatrol I am not sure what you mean by saying that "JDH would be interested". He has his own twitter account and he posts MO-related stuff quite often.

I mean he could combine the MathOverflow site with his own site and blog.
He's also very active on G+

As I mentioned above, SE abandoned the idea of twitter-bots for each sites. So the ones that continue are basically zombies.

Yeah, lit.se is trying to actively use Twitter also...
...thanks again for the info.

Re: January 10, yes.
@MartinSleziak

@Nij I am not sure what January 10 refers to. (Not even sure whether it was directed at me.)

Nij
Yes, it was, and it was the easiest way to refer to a post without fiddling on mobile. Proposing synonyms for [tag: awards].

@Nij I see, so you are probably reacting to what I have mentioned here: chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/2433/2018/1/10
We can discuss stuff later, when you have access to computer - since it seems that using SE chat on mobile devices is problematic.

Nij
Also, re: January 20 today. is about the mechanisms for scoring, rather than recording processes and notations which I believe fall between and a little of .
Yes, that's the one I was replying to. Good synonyms - have they been placed yet?

@Nij They have not even been discussed yet, as far as I can tell. (Neither here, nor on meta.)

That's what Tagging Up is for :) throw an answer on it.

@Nij It seems that we have somewhat different viewpoint what the tag actually is for. (But of course, I will leave the final retagging to core users, I am basically a guest here.)
Since we are talking about this specific question, what do you think about as a tag for this question. Or more generally as a tag for tie-break in tennis - as I have mentioned there are a few instances where it is used in this way: sports.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/tie-breaker+tennis
@Nij I suppose by Tagging Up you mean this thread: Tagging Up: edits, synonyms, requests, and other tag-related work. I'll post this there as an answer when I have time. (But feel free to do so yourself if you wish.)
I see that "Tagging Up" thread is relatively new, I think this is the first time I've seen it.
To be more specific, there are two questions where is used in this meaning: who serves after tiebreaker in doubles tennis and Is there an ATP 1000 that can end without a tie-break? Why not?.

Nij
It's only a couple of months old, I noted that getting involvement with important aspects of tag management was effectively zero, so it means we have a place to store a bunch of small tasks together in one place for accessibility.

"Tagging" is a issue on all Stackexchange sites.

Nij
For I see it being used on a question that asks about using methods of tiebreaking, tennis an obvious case. I think it would be a meta tag in this case, since the point was that "it means a tiebreaker happened" is the answer.

I see. So your interpretation is that this tag is suitable for tie-breaker in tennis. (And the two examples I linked to are tagged correctly.)

Good tagging is easy. There's no reason to not let high-rep users know that "by the way, you can also help rubber-stamp these bits, the same as approving small edits in the review queue". Which is the first half of that meta question, the other being discussion on what should be rubber-stamped.

I thought that this tag is intended for something different based on this sentence in tag-info (emphasis mine): "Questions about tiebreakers, a rule or method for deciding the winner of tied teams or players after a competition."
When tie-break is played in tennis, that's not after the competition.

Nij
I think I was the one who wrote that excerpt, and I would mean "a competition" in the most encompassing sense possible, if it was my writing.

This is the first time I hear somebody saying that: "Good tagging is easy." My impression is that it is very hard to reach any kind of consensus about tags. (But I have experience mostly from Mathematics.SE which is much larger site.)

Nij
Bigger sites mean more tags and each has more questions and more users active in them. Seems like there is less agreement, but I only recall three meta discussions about tags on Math.SE in a fair while.

I assume that when you say that meta question, you're reffing to: Tagging Up: edits, synonyms, requests, and other tag-related work?

Nij

Yes, forgot to tag skullpatrol after that response, sorry.
So, even with the size of Math.SE there's a lot of agreement on what to tag where, and what each tag means.
Here, each user is a greater proportion of the community, and more so of the active/high-rep users, so just one dissenter is a lot, comparatively speaking.
Alright, lots of wording there, time to ponder. Clocking off for now.

@Nij You can see some discussions in the Tagging chatroom. My impression is that there is a lot of disagreement about tags.
For example these two threads were relatively recent and they clearly show disagreements between users about specific tags: Should we have a tag for the mean value property of harmonic functions? and The birthday tag.
Have a nice day!

Looks like New England could be favoured by only 7 points at game time.
