@rak1507 You validate each char's description, rather than the entire submission.
Also, is it not shorter to use 1/0 rather than good/bad?

@pxeger To exit a function you would use EXIT FUNCTION, strangely enough. Or TIL these days Visual Basic does have RETURN, which does what you'd expect.

Golfing was not my goal. Nor was doing the CMC

CMC (, ): write a program that outputs all ASCII characters in one line (both program and output).

which do you want, short or fast code?

@hyper both. lmao

11:12 PM
APL ⎕UCS 32+⍳94 probably as short and fast as it gets

@MatthewDaniels There are at least two line break characters in ASCII...
What do we do with those?

output them?
I don't know. lmao

@rak1507 That's printable ASCII.

But then it's not one line
Do you mean printable ASCII?

@Adám that's what I assumed he meant considering no line breaks allowed, my bad

11:13 PM
@RedwolfP I suppose.

@MatthewDaniels How do you verify that I printed a backspace?

is a backspace an ASCII character?

Yes, number 8.

hmmmmmmmmmm...
don't allow any invisible characters.
like backspace. lmao

so printable ascii?

11:15 PM
@MatthewDaniels Is a line break invisible?

Is a space invisible?

space is visible if it's on one line with the others.

One that prints all but \0, invalid: f=x=>x<128?String.fromCharCode(x=-~x)+f(x):""

for a line break, probably not.

11:16 PM
@MatthewDaniels Is tab visible?

I'll disallow it.

Disallow what?

for me, tabs would be misleading to spaces depending on where it was placed.

@MatthewDaniels Extended Dyalog APL, 7 bytes: ' '…'~' Valid?

@Adám the tabs. let spaces be.

11:18 PM
Valid: f=(x=32)=>x<127?String.fromCharCode(x)+f(-~x):""

@Adám congrats! :D
@RedwolfP which language is that?

JavaScript what?

ES6, I guess?
Golf: f=(x=32)=>x>>7?"":String.fromCharCode(x)+f(-~x)

yeah, I don't know how to run it using TIO...

11:22 PM
Run it in your browser then.

@MatthewDaniels Try it online!

I'm an idiot. :P
oh wait, basic programmer.

Can I duplicate a character?
If so, ?"": to || saves two bytes but appends a 1

nope.
I wanna see the ungolfed version.

Ungolfed?

11:26 PM
That's off-topic ;-)
7

yes. :)
still, I wanna see.
might as well do it in my room.

@MatthewDaniels Still waiting for answers to my questions.

@MatthewDaniels Charcoal, 1 byte: γ

still not the fastest, but will do. :P

@lyxal Can you make your Vyxal FizzBuzz one byte shorter with the H flag?

@MatthewDaniels How are you measuring the speed?

yes
@cairdcoinheringaahing but I wont

11:52 PM
Why not?

because as much as I like flags, H would just be too much

lyxal, using vyxal, thinking a flag is too much? impossible

@Adám I check the debug in TIO.

@MatthewDaniels That's not reliable at all.

lmao
okay, maybe @Neil is the real winner in this competition then.

11:56 PM
TIO runs on 4 servers that are not identical, so your speed will depend not just on how many people are using TIO at any given moment, but also on which server you end up with.
@MatthewDaniels You also never properly answered this:
46 mins ago, by hyper-neutrino
which do you want, short or fast code?

now my pfp is here. lmao
I said both, but I guess is the best choice.
