CMC: determine if my sentence is sus (contains any word from the list ["sus", "amogus", "among us", "impostor"]. E.g Impostor syndrome is a sus sentence. a mog us is not (among us has to be together). decision-problemnever-posting-to-main-for-obvious-reasons
@RedwolfPrograms Personally, I prefer having it show all (using NEVER) until I reload, but that does mean I get ~30 new posts overnight. I'm fine just editing my own version, but I'm not too good with JS :/
The "battle" for first has been quite interesting as well, me and Bubbler have both taken fairly large leads over each other repeatedly
They're currently +3 ahead of me; I remember being like +4 or something soon after the voting started, then it stabilised; The three-way tie and Adam's stayed in third since it was broken; etc.
@user we probably could've done something like that. i don't think an RO election is really serious enough that it matters, though that idea would completely break anonymity
but yeah +10 1 hour ago implies that 1 hour ago my reputation increased by 10 but apparently it just means my reputation on that post is +10 and the last vote change was 1 hour ago. weird
@user okay. that makes a lot more sense. thing is i had an idea where people could like comment / edit profile a ranked vote so we could do STV until i realized that breaks anonymity, so when you mentioned comments i got the wrong idea at first :P
@hyper-neutrino I suppose we could have held "moderator" elections, using the election page/system, then just appointed the winners as ROs instead of mods
The only problems I could see with that: 1) we'd have to convince SE to set it up for us and 2) the /election page would show 3 mod elections and 1 RO election :P
also the other thing is moderator elections send a notification to every eligible voter across the entire network and i don't see it being a problem only having people who either check meta or are in TNB voting
I guess to anonymously prove they're a real user, they could perform some anonymous action like an upvote on a meta post within a few seconds of a prompt
@RedwolfPrograms Nah, you have the 4 ROs decided by 1) who golfs the source code the most, 2) who finds a flaw first, 3) who's bot wins the most in an RO election koth and 4) who is the most popular
We could just ping the creator of the website here and say "Hey, I wanna register for the election under such-and-such username", and the votes would be anonymous
the thing is there's no way we've figured out with our discussion right now to verify that a user has only made one action (an action being a sequence of zero to eight votes) without also knowing the user's action
i mean, if everyone trusts me to keep it anonymous and to be impartial i could run something like that but a) then people have to trust me (though i am totally impartial in who becomes RO), b) more importantly, the further something is removed from SE, the more dead it gets
there is only one person not participating in the election not by choice :P
